Video: he said he hadn't drunk, but tested positive for alcohol and confessed
A driver in Buenos Aires tested positive for alcohol despite claiming he hadn't consumed any, later admitting to having drunk whisky hours earlier.
Early on Sunday morning, a routine traffic check on the Buenos Aires-La Plata highway revealed a driver with a blood alcohol concentration of 1.20 grams per liter. Upon being tested, the driver vehemently insisted he had not consumed alcohol, stating, "It can't be. Impossible. I swear I didn't drink anything." However, moments later, he confessed to having consumed whisky a few hours prior.
The incident occurred near the Hudson toll station when the Argentine Ministry of Transport's traffic safety agents conducted the alcohol test. Despite the time lapsed since drinking, the driver claimed he was still well over the legal limit for driving. This situation highlights ongoing concerns about road safety and the dangers of driving under the influence, particularly during weekends when social drinking tends to increase.
Following the first test, the driver requested a retest, asserting disbelief in the result. This case reflects a pressing issue in Argentina, where incidents of drunk driving pose significant risks to both drivers and pedestrians. Authorities continue to enforce strict measures to combat this problem, aiming to enhance road safety and reduce alcohol-related accidents.
