Immu punished the controversial fighter: "Really condemnable"
Magamed Gadiev was penalized by promoter Mika Ilmén for an inappropriate action during a fight.
In a recent event hosted by Immun Fight Club, fighter Magamed Gadiev emerged victorious over Niklas Hyvärinen; however, the focus shifted to Gadiev's inappropriate conduct during the bout. The incident occurred in the third round when Gadiev performed a troubling maneuver while Hyvärinen was on his knees, sparking outrage within the combat sports community. Promoter Mika 'Immu' Ilmén expressed his disapproval on Instagram, labeling the action as 'really condemnable' and questioning its nature, whether it was indicative of disrespect or harassment. He emphasized that such behavior should be eradicated from combat sports.
Despite the absence of a reaction from officials during the match, Ilmén took it upon himself to impose sanctions on Gadiev. He mentioned that freezing the payout was not feasible due to contractual obligations, leading him to decide on a fighting ban instead. Ilmén announced that Gadiev would not be allowed to compete in IFC events until the end of the year. He indicated that the situation would be reassessed at the year's conclusion to determine if Gadiev's behavior had improved in a sporting direction.
Ilmén's decisive action highlights the serious stance being taken against misconduct in sports, especially in a discipline where respect between competitors is paramount. This incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing need for accountability and sportsmanship in combat sports, ensuring that all participants uphold the values expected both inside and outside the ring.
