CM Mohan Yadav's Strict Action, Collector and SP in MP Face Consequences
CM Mohan Yadav has taken strict action in response to serious allegations against police in Madhya Pradesh, where a police officer reportedly extorted money from a businessman.
In Madhya Pradesh's Guna, a sensational hawala-related case has raised serious questions about the police department's functioning. Previously, in a separate incident in Seoni, police faced public ridicule for a case involving the theft of hawala money. Now, allegations have emerged against the Guna police for serious misconduct, reportedly extorting a sum of 20 lakh rupees from a Gujarat-based cumin trader. The trader was en route to Gujarat with 1 crore rupees in cash when he was stopped at Pagara toll plaza by two policemen and taken to the Ruthiya police station under duress. At the Ruthiya station, the police allegedly pressured the trader concerning the hawala money, eventually negotiating a settlement of 20 lakh rupees to resolve the matter. Subsequently, the Dariyavada police reportedly collected this amount from the trader, allowing him and his vehicle to leave without further issues. This incident has sparked outrage and demands for accountability within the police department, highlighting systemic issues with law enforcement practices in the region. The situation escalated following intervention from an IPS officer, who facilitated the return of the extorted money to the trader. The controversy surrounding this case emphasizes the urgent need for police reform in Madhya Pradesh and brings to light the troubling practices of extortion that can undermine public trust in law enforcement. The Chief Minister's actions are seen as a response to these unfolding issues, indicating an effort to address misconduct within the ranks of police officers in the state.
