Vigil brings together friends and family for Brazilian missing in England
Friends and family of Vitória Figueiredo Barreto, a Brazilian woman missing in England since early March, held a candlelight vigil in Brightlingsea.
On Sunday, friends and family gathered for a candlelight vigil in Brightlingsea to pray for Vitória Figueiredo Barreto, a Brazilian woman who has been missing since March 3. This event drew dozens of attendees holding banners and flags, while more than 100 people joined online to support the family during this difficult time. Host Liliane Além-Mar urged participants to light a candle for Vitória and expressed gratitude for the support received from the community.
Vitória, originally from Ceará, was last seen leaving the campus of the University of Essex in Colchester, approximately 90 kilometers from London. Her disappearance was reported to the British police on March 4, who began their investigation into her case. The community's response illustrates a deep sense of concern and solidarity among those who knew her, as they hope for her safe return.
The ongoing search for Vitória has not only captured the attention of her local community but has also highlighted the challenges faced by missing persons cases in foreign countries. The vigil serves to raise awareness about her plight and calls upon authorities to expedite their efforts in locating her, sending a powerful message of hope amid uncertainty.
