Botn won the final race of the World Cup season and rose to third in the overall standings

Norwegian Johan-Olav Botn secured victory in the last race of the biathlon World Cup season, finishing third overall.

The biathlon World Cup season concluded in Holmenkollen, Oslo, with Johan-Olav Botn of Norway winning the final race in the men's mass start event. After the initial rounds, French athlete Eric Perrot led the competition, but Botn's flawless shooting allowed him to ascend to first place after the third round. Alongside Perrot, German athlete Philipp Nawrath and French athlete Emilien Jacquelin remained in contention as they approached the final shooting round.

In the decisive moments of the race, Botn not only maintained his excellent shooting form but also outpaced Nawrath, ultimately finishing with a 3.7-second lead over his German competitor.
