Vittozzi's final lap was too much for Hanna Öberg, Ermits 25.

Lisa Vittozzi won the women's mass start race at Holmenkollen, finishing ahead of Sweden's Hanna Öberg after a fierce competition.

In the final stage of the Biathlon World Cup season at Holmenkollen, Italian Lisa Vittozzi claimed victory in the women's mass start race with a time of 34:58.9. She outpaced Sweden's Hanna Öberg by 4.2 seconds, despite both coming into the last shooting round as leaders. While Hanna struggled, making one miss, her sister Elvira missed twice, allowing Vittozzi to maintain a competitive edge on the final lap, finishing strong despite departing the shooting range behind Hanna.

After Vittozzi and Öberg, Czech Republic's Tereza Vobornikova finished third, securing a medal position. Vobornikova was able to keep Elvira Öberg, Norwegian Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold, and France's Julia Simon at bay, with Simon finishing fifth but notably clinching the overall title for the mass start races in the World Cup series. Simon accumulated 245 points over the season, surpassing Vittozzi by 59 points, while Michelon took the third position.

The overall victory of the World Cup series was secured earlier by French athlete Lou Jeanmonnot, who rounded off the eventful weekend with another solid performance on Sunday. This final race showcased the intense competition among leading biathletes, highlighting both individual talents and the strategic elements that play into mass start racing dynamics in the sport.
