Police crack down on traffic offenders in Delta

The Delta State Police Command is strictly enforcing traffic laws, establishing mobile courts to address violations and ensure compliance by drivers in the state.

The Delta State Police Command has announced a stringent approach towards traffic law enforcement, emphasizing that violations will lead to significant penalties. Deputy Commissioner of Operations, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, indicated that the state government has set up seven mobile courts specifically designed to address traffic offences. These mobile courts will collaborate with the police to ensure that law enforcement is conducted in an effective and professional manner.

Deputy Commissioner Adejobi highlighted the importance of proper vehicle registration and visible number plates as mandatory for all vehicles on Delta's roads. He stressed that number plates must not be obscured in any manner, which is essential for maintaining order and accountability on the highways. Furthermore, the officer made it clear that unauthorized use of sirens by individuals or groups will not be tolerated, reinforcing the seriousness of adherence to traffic regulations.

This initiative reflects the Delta State government’s commitment to improving road safety and compliance with traffic laws. By providing mobile courts, the police aim to streamline the adjudication process for traffic violations, ensuring swift justice and deterring potential offenders. The overall goal is to create a safer driving environment in Delta State, protecting the lives of both drivers and pedestrians alike.
