The case came to light when an unidentified body was discovered in a wheat field on March 19 in Chambrouli village, under the jurisdiction of Ajgain police station. Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officials quickly recognized the circumstances pointed towards murder, especially since the deceased had his hands tied behind him and there were marks of violence on his body. Subsequent investigations led to the identification of the victim as 38-year-old Shrikant, also known as Jungli, which caused an uproar among his family and the local community.
