Swedish pole vault star Armand Duplantis was crowned Indoor World Champion for the fourth consecutive time in Torun, Poland. However, he chose not to attempt a new world record during the event. The highly anticipated competition was largely a duel between Duplantis and Emmanouil Karalis, who had set a new Greek record earlier in the year at 6.17 meters. Karalis made an unsuccessful attempt at 6.00 meters but managed to successfully clear 6.05 meters after skipping 6.10 meters, while Duplantis opted out of that height, only needing one attempt at both 6.10 meters and 6.15 meters.
