Body of man found floating in Apipucos Reservoir; it is the third case in less than a week

On Saturday morning, the body of a man was found floating in the Apipucos Reservoir, located in the same-named neighborhood in North Recife. The Civil Police have yet to confirm the name and age of the victim. This incident marks the third body discovered in the city in less than a week, indicating a troubling pattern in the area. A video circulating on social media depicts the shirtless victim in yellow shorts drifting in the reservoir.

The first body found during this troubling week was reported on Monday, October 16, in a river near the Armazém 14 in the Recife neighborhood. This was followed by another discovery on Wednesday, October 18, of a different body floating in the Capibaribe River in North Recife. In all three instances, the victims were identified as men, raising concerns within the community about the potential causes behind these deaths.

The occurrence from Saturday was recorded by the Capital's Central Plant in Campo Grande as a "death to clarify." Ongoing investigations are focused on uncovering the circumstances surrounding these deaths, amid rising public concern and fear regarding safety in the region.
