NCoS warns public against fraudulent offers, clarifies contract rules
The Nigerian Correctional Service has warned the public about fraudulent documents being circulated to scam individuals regarding government contracts.
The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has issued a public warning against fraudulent activities involving documents that falsely claim to be related to official government contracts. Scammers are reportedly distributing a fabricated document titled 'Payment/Mobilisation Request Form', which they use to solicit payments from unsuspecting individuals. The NCoS has emphasized that this document does not originate from its office, and it is crucial for the public to be aware of such scams.
In an official statement released by the Chief Superintendent of Corrections and Service Public Relations Officer, J.N. Osuji, the NCoS reassured the public of its commitment to following all Federal Government regulations and established procedures in procurement and contracting. This statement aims to clarify that the agency does not engage in practices that deviate from legal and regulated protocols concerning contract awards.
The public is urged to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious documents or solicitations that may appear legitimate but are, in fact, fraudulent. The NCoS reiterates that its operations are conducted with transparency and due process, urging citizens not to fall victim to these scams by paying any fees associated with the non-existent contracts.
