The Elevado Mamédio Bittar was inaugurated in Rio Branco after nearly two years of construction, aiming to improve traffic flow in the region.

The Elevado Mamédio Bittar, a significant infrastructure project in Rio Branco, Brazil, was inaugurated recently after almost two years of construction. Named after the late father of Senator Márcio Bittar, the elevated structure faced various delays and modifications throughout its construction timeline, initially set for completion in July 2025 but later delayed multiple times, with the final inauguration taking place on the evening of November 20. The project, which was designed to facilitate better traffic flow in a heavily trafficked area, was attended by various authorities at its opening ceremony.

This new elevated structure is positioned to ease the transit challenges that have plagued the area for years. With an estimated 14,000 vehicles passing through daily, the Elevado Mamédio Bittar is expected to significantly enhance the flow of traffic where previous traffic interventions had caused considerable disruptions. The construction spanned from July 3, 2024, coinciding with the signing of the service order, to its recent inauguration, showcasing the local government's efforts to invest in infrastructure despite logistical hurdles.

Valued at over R$ 27.3 million, the project had a portion of its funding sourced from federal resources. The elevated structure measures 278 meters in length and stands 32 meters high, promising to improve transportation conditions and possibly stimulate economic activities in the vicinity. Local residents and commuters alike are hopeful that this new addition will bring positive changes to their daily travel experiences.
