Emergency services, including ambulances and several firefighting units, were deployed quickly to manage the situation, and additional emergency services were even airlifted to the scene due to the scale of the incident.
Captain Jan Bentkowski from the Warsaw fire department confirmed the fatalities, identifying that the victims included individuals both in the vehicle and inside the nearby building. Emergency responders faced challenges in controlling the fire and attending to the victims, leading to the rapid escalation of aid with the presence of helicopter support from the Air Emergency Service bringing in additional medical teams to assist with the emergency response.
The incident raises questions about safety regulations, especially concerning areas where extensive renovations are taking place near transport hubs and public buildings.
