Tanzania's High Commissioner to Zimbabwe, Suzan Kaganda, recently visited the Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) office in Harare to discuss the implementation of Tanzania's Economic Diplomacy Policy. The aim of this policy is to enhance the role of TPA in facilitating cargo transportation from Tanzanian ports to Southern African nations, particularly Zimbabwe. During her visit, she engaged with TPA Representative Kulthum Boma, who highlighted the notable increase in cargo volumes entering Zimbabwe from Tanzanian ports since the TPA office's establishment in early 2023.

Kulthum Boma provided insights into the office's role in marketing and customer service, showcasing how their efforts have become pivotal in boosting trade between Tanzania and Zimbabwe. This increase in cargo traffic affirms the office's effective strategy and outreach since its inception. Ambassador Kaganda praised these outcomes and reiterated the importance of continued collaboration between the TPA office and the Tanzanian Embassy, which she believes is crucial for fostering sustainable economic ties.

The discussions also emphasized the need for organizing stakeholder forums and enhancing business engagements, reflecting Tanzania's commitment to deepening trade relations with its neighbors. Strengthening these connections can lead to significant economic benefits for both countries, positioning Tanzania as a key player in the region's logistics and trade dynamics.
