Login with MitID is up again – over 85,000 citizens are in line to check their annual tax reports

The digital login solution NemLog-In has been restored, allowing over 85,000 citizens to queue for checking their annual tax assessments as of Saturday morning.

The digital login system NemLog-In is operational again after experiencing downtime, as confirmed by the Danish Agency for Digitization. As of Saturday morning, approximately 85,000 citizens are waiting to access their annual tax reports through the MitID login system, following early access granted by the Tax Agency on Friday evening. This surge in user activity highlights the importance of this digital infrastructure for citizens seeking to manage their tax obligations.

By 9:00 AM, the agency reported ongoing efforts to ensure stable service, indicating the technical challenges faced and the demand for such digital services. Already, over 500,000 individuals have checked their annual tax reports since the early access began, underlining a significant interest in this financial data. Last year, the Tax Agency issued excess tax refunds to 3.8 million citizens, totaling more than 25 billion DKK, suggesting high anticipation for potential refunds.

This situation underscores the reliance on digital solutions for tax management in Denmark and raises questions about the robustness of the digital infrastructure amid rising user demand. The ability for citizens to monitor their financial assessments aligns with broader digital transformation goals within the Danish government, which seeks to enhance online services and citizen engagement.
