The National History Museum of Latvia opens a new exhibition titled 'Streaming Time', exploring Latvia's history from the last glacier retreat to present-day digital forums.

The National History Museum in Riga has launched a new exhibition called 'Streaming Time', which creatively encompasses 12,000 years of Latvian history. This exhibition is designed to enable visitors to understand the flow of time through the presentation of various historical milestones, starting from the retreat of the last glacier to contemporary digital forums. The event showcases the museum's commitment to depicting Latvia's historical narrative in an engaging manner.

The exhibition was developed by a team of specialists from the museum, including researchers, conservators, and other professionals, under the direction of the current director, Dr. Toms Ķikuts. The conceptualization and content development began in 2021, highlighting a timeline of significant events that mark the progress of Latvian civilization. Although the media had only a limited visit of one hour to perceive the vastness of the exhibit, it is suggested that viewers should allocate much more time to fully appreciate the intricate details presented within the 600 square meters of the exhibition space.

The design and technical project for the exhibition came to fruition following a competition held in 2023, which underscored the museum's innovative approach to historical presentation. The exhibition is located at the Riga Castle, symbolizing a continuous journey through time and space that resonates with both national identity and collective memory.
