Bus hits ambulance and leaves three injured on highway in Cuiabá
Three people were injured when a bus collided with the rear of an ambulance on BR-364 in Cuiabá.
On the night of Thursday, 19, a significant accident occurred on the BR-364 in Cuiabá, Brazil, when a bus struck an ambulance from behind, resulting in injuries to three individuals. One of the injured was already in moderate condition while being transported, necessitating a transfer to the hospital using another ambulance from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu). The other two injured individuals were also taken to a healthcare facility for treatment; however, the bus driver was unharmed in the incident.
The accident led to the temporary closure of one lane of the highway as clean-up operations commenced, with a tow truck being deployed to remove the damaged ambulance from the scene. The highway concessionaire, Nova Rota do Oeste, confirmed that traffic resumed around 8:10 PM after the roadway was cleared. The incident has been brought to the attention of the Federal Highway Police (PRF), which is currently investigating the specifics surrounding the accident to determine any potential liability or factors involved.
