AMMPLA warns of road closures during a race in Petrolina
The Municipal Mobility Authority of Petrolina (AMMPLA) has announced temporary road closures for the 2nd Women’s Movement Run and Walk event on Saturday, affecting several waterfront areas.
The Municipal Mobility Authority of Petrolina (AMMPLA) has announced that there will be temporary road closures in the Orlas I, II, and III in the Sertão of Pernambuco due to the 2nd Women’s Movement Run and Walk taking place on Saturday, the 21st. The closures will begin at 5 AM, with participants expected to gather at 5:30 AM at Porta do Rio, with the run starting at 6 AM. The event will cover a distance of 5 kilometers, starting and ending at the same location, covering the scenic waterfront areas.
AMMPLA has stated that during the road closures, traffic agents will be present to assist motorists and pedestrians, directing them and managing traffic diversions effectively. The authority encourages drivers to avoid the region and find alternative routes during the event to ease congestion and ensure safety. The focus on such events highlights the local government's commitment to promoting health, community engagement, and leisure activities for women in the region.
Such events not only encourage physical activity but also foster community spirit and togetherness among participants and residents. However, with the expected increase in foot traffic around the waterfront areas, it is essential for both participants and drivers to follow AMMPLA’s guidance to ensure a smooth and safe experience for everyone involved during the event day.
