Minister and APS lay cornerstone for the new headquarters of the Federal Police in the Port of Santos and announce construction of new public berths
The cornerstone for the new Federal Police headquarters in Santos was laid, along with announcements for new public berth constructions.
On Thursday, the 19th, Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho, and Anderson Pomini, president of the Santos Port Authority, signed an agreement to officially lay the cornerstone for the new Federal Police (PF) headquarters in Santos, São Paulo. This headquarters will be strategically located at the entrance of the navigation channel to the port, emphasizing the importance of security in a vital economic area of Brazil. In addition to the police headquarters, the officials announced the construction of two new public berths, enhancing the port's infrastructure for maritime operations.
The new Federal Police building will span 5,800 square meters and is set to include ten floors, reflecting the growing demands for police services in the area. An investment of R$ 58 million has been allocated for this project, with an expected completion date of 2029. The construction of the police headquarters is aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the Federal Police in pursuing its duties at one of the country’s busiest ports, thereby potentially improving regional security and law enforcement responses.
The ceremony, which marked these significant developments, was attended by key figures including the regional superintendent of the Federal Police in São Paulo. The collaboration indicates a commitment to strengthening public safety and infrastructure at the Port of Santos, which is integral to both local and national economies.
