The Getúlio Vargas Hospital (HGV) is conducting a nationwide initiative on Saturday to provide preventive health exams and surgeries for women.
On Saturday (21), the Getúlio Vargas Hospital (HGV) is participating in a nationwide initiative to promote women's health through a series of preventive examinations and surgeries aimed at cervical and breast cancer prevention. The event, which will commence at 7 AM at the hospital's Gynecological Clinic, offers essential services including oncotic cytology (Pap smear), colposcopy, breast ultrasound, and transvaginal ultrasound. Furthermore, it will include surgeries for varicose veins, thyroid issues, hysterectomies, hernias, and ophthalmological conditions.
This initiative is a part of the "Agora Tem Especialistas" program launched by the Ministry of Health across Brazil, focusing on providing a range of health services tailored specifically for women. Beneficiaries of this health event are women who were previously on waiting lists, referred through the State's Regulation Center, ensuring that those in need receive timely medical attention. Oncologist Thiago Diniz highlighted that a total of 140 procedures are scheduled for this single day event.
The health initiative reflects Brazil's broader commitment to women's health and cancer prevention, addressing significant health issues within the population. By providing access to vital screenings and surgeries, the program aims to empower women with the tools necessary to take charge of their health and well-being, while also reducing the burden of preventable diseases.
