In Latvia, the price of diesel fuel at major filling stations has exceeded two euros

In Latvia, the average price of diesel fuel has increased to over two euros per liter at major filling stations due to escalating tensions in the Middle East.

The price of diesel fuel at Latvia's major filling station networks has surged, with average prices surpassing two euros per liter. This increase is reflective of broader trends influenced by the worsening conflict in the Middle East. According to data compiled by the LETA agency, the price has increased considerably across several major fuel retailers in the country.

Specifically, Circle K Latvia has reported a staggering 29.6% increase in the average price of diesel, rising from 1.554 euros per liter on February 27 to 2.014 euros per liter by Friday. Furthermore, the average price of 95-grade gasoline at Circle K stations has also nearly reached 1.794 euros per liter, marking a rise of about 15.4%. Meanwhile, Neste Latvia experienced an even sharper increase in diesel prices, which went up by approximately 33.4%, from 1.497 euros to nearly 2 euros per liter within the same timeframe.

These price hikes not only reflect local economic conditions but are also indicative of the impacts of international events on domestic fuel markets. With fuel prices on the rise, consumers in Latvia may soon feel financial strain, prompting concerns about the overall economic implications and potential calls for government intervention to stabilize prices.
