This unfortunate event comes just two days after another homicide in the same area, where a homeless man was found dead with bullet wounds. The community is shaken, with rising concerns about public safety in the East Zone of the city.
According to police reports, five of the shots struck Filipe's head, while nine hit his leg, and one was in the chest. The police responded to the scene following reports from residents who heard gunshots near the location. Upon arrival, they found Filipe in the family’s backyard, where a relative informed them of the shooting. Initial investigations indicate that a suspect broke into the home and opened fire on Filipe, although the suspect remains unidentified at this time.
The case is currently being investigated by the Homicide and Person Protection Department (DHPP), raising questions about the increasing violence in the region.
