‘Comeback D-1’ Gwanghwamun Night Colored by BTS... “Even Without Tickets, I'm Happy”
Gwanghwamun Plaza is alive with excitement as fans gather ahead of BTS's concert, showing their enthusiasm despite ticket shortages.
On the evening of the 20th, just one day before BTS's highly anticipated performance at Gwanghwamun Plaza, the area was filled with both local citizens and foreign tourists snapping photos in front of multiple electronic billboards featuring BTS comeback videos. Many attendees, waving purple items and BTS lightsticks, expressed their excitement regarding the concert scheduled for the following day. With expectations of a crowd of approximately 260,000 people, police and event organizers were busy ensuring safety by setting up barriers and designated pathways around the concert area.
The main stage, designed in the shape of an 'archway' and set against the backdrop of Gyeongbokgung Palace, was fully constructed, and various safety measures were implemented, including structures to prevent falls and personnel monitoring the crowd. A notable hotspot was the steps in front of the Sejong Cultural Center, where fans congregated to catch glimpses of the large KT billboard showcasing BTS videos. One attendee, sporting a purple hoodie and mask, shared their excitement about finally securing a standing ticket for the performance, though they arrived early to enjoy the atmosphere and participate in pre-concert events.
Foreign tourists were also prominently present, including a family from Malaysia who had visited Korea multiple times but were excited to see BTS for the first time. They planned to soak in the local atmosphere and enjoy BTS-related activities during their stay. The concert not only brings together ardent fans from South Korea but also international ARMY members, highlighting the global impact and cultural significance of BTS, further solidifying their connection with fans across different generations and countries.
