On Thursday afternoon, significant rainfall in Marechal Floriano, located in the Serrana Region of Espírito Santo, Brazil, resulted in severe flooding and landslides, displacing approximately 80 families. Local government reports indicated that some areas experienced up to 200 millimeters of rain within just three hours, causing major disruptions in various neighborhoods.

The most affected regions included Córrego Batatal in the city center, as well as the districts of Santa Maria and Araguaia. As a response to the flooding, local authorities, including the Social Assistance departments and Civil Defense, have been collaborating to assess damage and determine recovery efforts. Mayor Lidiney Gobbi reported that by Friday morning, water levels had receded in most areas, and clean-up efforts were underway.

Despite improvements, some streets remained under water on Friday morning, but residents began the process of cleaning their homes and salvaging damaged furniture. The coordinated efforts between local agencies aim to address the immediate needs of the displaced families and restore normalcy in the affected regions, highlighting the ongoing challenges that heavy rains pose to local communities.
