6th Fish Fair has set date in Acre's interior
The 6th Fish Fair will take place from March 31 to April 1 in Acre, Brazil, featuring over 40 vendors and an expected supply of more than 8 tons of fish.
The 6th edition of the Fish Fair is scheduled from March 31 to April 1 at the JoΓ£o Machado Market in Cruzeiro do Sul, Acre. This event aims to cater to the increased demand for fish during Holy Week, with more than 40 producers and sellers participating. The organizers expect to provide over 8 tons of various fish species, including both wild catch from local rivers and farmed fish from regional aquaculture.
The initiative aims not only to meet the heightened demand for fish during the period leading up to Easter but also to decentralize fish sales in the municipality. This approach offers an alternative to the traditional market, thereby enhancing accessibility for consumers in the area. The participation of local vendors is crucial, as it supports the region's economy and promotes local products.
Francisco Valdecir Rodrigues, president of the Cruzeiro do Sul Fish Vendors Association, indicated that the fair will feature popular fish species sought after by consumers during this period, such as tambaqui, matrinxΓ£, and piau. The anticipation surrounding this event highlights its importance for both local sellers and consumers, as it strengthens community ties and diversifies market options in Cruzeiro do Sul.
