More than half of all postal shipments in Latvia were received by residents using parcel lockers in 2025, reflecting a significant trend towards e-commerce.

In 2025, the total number of postal shipments in Latvia reached 62.8 million, with overall industry revenue increasing by 3% to 182.5 million euros. According to Ivars Tauniņő, director of the Electronic Communications and Postal Department of SPRK, there has been a clear trend in the postal sector where residents are increasingly opting for parcel lockers as the most convenient and flexible way to receive their shipments. This shift is significantly impacting the industry's overall development, indicating a growing reliance on e-commerce as a key factor influencing the postal sector.

The total revenue generated from postal services provided by postal companies amounted to 182.5 million euros in 2025, with 80% (145.4 million euros) stemming from the delivery of parcel shipments alone. This robust contribution from parcel services highlights the dominance of e-commerce in the postal sector, which has seen a continually rising volume of package shipments. In comparison to 2024, there was a 1% increase in the total number of postal shipments, amounting to 62.8 million, comprising 35.8 million parcel shipments, 15.5 million letters, and 11.5 million subscriptions to periodicals.
