I Needed to Rap!
Latvian rapper VIŅA releases a new mini-album titled 'V70', featuring three new tracks, two skits, and a summer single collaboration.
Latvian rapper VIŅA, whose real name is Zelma Jēgere, has launched a new mini-album titled 'V70'. The album includes three fresh tracks, two skits, and a summer single release named '100', which is a collaboration with artists Ūga and Revolūcija. The artwork for the album cover is notably inspired by the design of American rapper Kendrick Lamar's 2024 album 'GNX', showcasing VIŅA's intention to intertwine regional and international musical influences.
In her own words, VIŅA expressed that after releasing her previous album 'Problēmbērns' in the spring of last year, she began contemplating her next major release. However, feeling overwhelmed by the process, she decided to take a step back and allow herself some creative breathing room. She emphasized the importance of enjoying the artistic process and playing with lyrics and music without the harsh judgment of her inner critic for a moment, showcasing her dedication to personal growth and creativity in her work.
The creation of most of this mini-album occurred while VIŅA was on the move, highlighting her dynamic lifestyle and commitment to her craft. This new release is not just a reflection of a pause in serious themes, but also serves as a testament to her evolving approach to music, where she seeks to balance serious topics with a more playful and enjoyable creative expression.
