Hiphop artists Viņa, Krisy, Revolūcija, and Ūga unite in the project 'Vētra KRŪ'
A new female hip-hop project called 'Vētra KRŪ' brings together four Latvian artists, highlighting their unique collaboration in music.
The annual project 'Straumē' in Latvia, which showcases various artistic performances, is celebrating its five-year anniversary by introducing a new female collective called 'Vētra KRŪ.' This project unites the distinctive talents of four artists: Viņa, Krisy, Revolūcija, and Ūga, whose combined energies symbolize both creativity and power, reflected in the project's name. The uppercase letters represent the first letters of the artists' names, signifying their collaboration.
'Vētra KRŪ' features a fusion of hip-hop, R&B, and alternative music styles, offering a fresh sound through its collaboration. Notably, the artists have already worked together in various formats, with a recent collaborative track '100' released last year that marked a significant moment in Latvian hip-hop, being one of the first songs featuring three female vocalists. The project is set to debut at the upcoming 'Straume' festival, creating excitement around their inaugural performance together on stage.
This initiative not only showcases the talents of these artists but also promotes female representation in a genre traditionally dominated by male artists. By coming together, the members of 'Vētra KRŪ' are expected to inspire a new wave of female musicians in Latvia and demonstrate the power of collaboration in the arts. Their participation in the annual 'Straumē' event signifies the growing support for diverse voices in the Latvian music scene, promising to leave a lasting impact on the audience and encouraging others to embrace creativity regardless of gender.
