Forecasters inform about the expected weather in the coming days

Weather forecasts predict below freezing temperatures at night in Latvia with mild afternoons as the spring progresses.

In the coming nights, temperatures in most parts of Latvia are expected to drop below zero, but the afternoons will be unseasonably warm, according to weather forecasters. Over the past three weeks, a total of 122 heat records have been broken, but new records are not anticipated as temperatures will not rise as high as they did during the first half of March.

The weekend is expected to bring dry and mostly sunny weather with light winds. On Saturday, temperatures will drop to between -1 and -6 degrees Celsius at night and rise to between +8 and +12 degrees in the afternoon, although some coastal areas might not exceed +5 degrees. Sunday is predicted to be one or two degrees warmer. Similar weather patterns are expected to persist into Monday, although cloud cover will increase throughout the day.

From Monday evening, the likelihood of precipitation is expected to rise, with some rain, possible hail, and wet snow predicted for the following week. Winds will occasionally strengthen, mainly blowing from the southwest. This forecast suggests a transitional phase in weather, highlighting a dynamic shift as spring approaches in Latvia, though winter's chill is still felt at night.
