Kuwait: Fire at refinery after drone attack
A fire broke out at a refinery in Kuwait following drone attacks, although no injuries were reported.
Drone attacks targeted Kuwait overnight, causing a fire at the Mina al-Ahmadi refinery, as reported by the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC). The refinery experienced damage which prompted a partial shutdown for safety reasons. Fortunately, KPC has confirmed that there were no injuries related to the incident.
In addition to the refinery attacks in Kuwait, there were simultaneous reports of aerial assaults across the region. The defense ministries of both Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates confirmed that their air defenses were actively engaged in intercepting missiles launched toward their territories on the same night. This escalation signifies the ongoing tensions in the region and the increasing frequency of drone warfare.
The situation remained tense, with air defense sirens reportedly activated in Bahrain due to incoming threats, and Saudi Arabia's defense ministry also announced successful interception of a drone targeting its eastern region. These events underscore the heightened military alertness in the Gulf, reflecting broader geopolitical disturbances and the continued volatility in the area.
