On Thursday, the police arrested a man believed to be involved in a gang that specializes in executing false lawyer scams in Praia Grande, located on the coast of São Paulo. This operation, dubbed 'Operation False Lawyer', was conducted by the Civil Police of the Federal District with the assistance of the São Paulo police department. The criminal organization was reported to be active in at least 11 states across Brazil, indicating the widespread nature of their illicit activities.

The operation led to the issuance of 45 judicial warrants, including 20 for preventive detention and 25 for search and seizure. As part of the operation, 15 arrests occurred, with one in Praia Grande while the others took place in São Paulo. The operation involved 70 agents from the Federal District, showcasing the collaborative effort between different law enforcement agencies to combat organized crime.

Authorities stated that the individuals apprehended will face charges of qualified fraud, highlighting the serious nature of the illegal activities in which they were engaged.
