Woman investigated for scams with fake judicial action is arrested in Acre: 'Promised to return R$ 5 million'

A woman was arrested in Acre for attempting to scam a victim by promising the return of R$ 5 million through a fake judicial action.

A woman has been arrested at a bank in Marechal Thaumaturgo, Acre, while she was trying to scam a third victim, adding to her record of defrauding two other individuals out of over R$ 80,000. She allegedly claimed to need money to lift a fictitious judicial action of R$ 50 million against the city hall of Rodrigues Alves, supposedly related to overdue salaries.

According to the city’s Department of Administration, there is no ongoing or concluded judicial process of that value against the municipality, contradicting the suspect's claims. The city's Prosecutor's Office emphasized that it has no legal case in this regard, highlighting the blatant nature of the woman's fraudulent activities.

The arrest was confirmed by Delegate Marcílio Laurentino, who stated that they managed to capture her during one of her attempts to defraud an unsuspecting victim. This case not only illustrates the ongoing issues of financial scams but also emphasizes the need for increased public awareness about such fraudulent practices that target vulnerable individuals.
