MP-SP charges four more for planning and executing the murder of former delegate Ruy Ferraz

The São Paulo Public Prosecutor's Office has charged four additional individuals in connection with the murder of former police chief Ruy Ferraz Fontes, who was killed in September 2025.

The São Paulo Public Prosecutor's Office (MP-SP) has filed charges against four more individuals for their involvement in the assassination of Ruy Ferraz Fontes, a former police chief. Ferraz was murdered on September 15, 2025, in Praia Grande, São Paulo. The individuals charged are Fernando Alberto Ribeiro, Manoel Alberto Ribeiro Teixeira, Márcio Serapião de Oliveira, and Robson Roque Silva de Sousa, the latter of whom is still at large while the other three have been apprehended. This legal action follows previous charges made in November 2025 against eight other individuals linked to the crime.

This latest indictment marks the conclusion of the second phase of the investigation led by a task force established by the São Paulo Secretary of Public Security (SSP-SP). The ongoing investigation sheds light on a complex case that has unfolded in the public eye, raising concerns about law enforcement and crime in the region. The extensive nature of the investigation underscores the challenges faced by authorities in tackling organized crime.

The murder of a high-profile figure like Ruy Ferraz, who held a prominent position in law enforcement, has significant implications for public safety perceptions in São Paulo and beyond. The swift legal actions taken against those involved in the planning and execution of the assassination illustrate the commitment of the judicial system to pursue justice in high-stakes cases. However, the fact that an individual remains at large suggests ongoing risks affiliated with organized crime in the area, highlighting the need for continued vigilance and proactive measures from law enforcement agencies.
