Motorcyclist has been missing for 5 days after leaving home to make a delivery in Caucaia; three are arrested
A motorcyclist from Fortaleza has been missing for five days after he was reportedly kidnapped during a delivery in Caucaia, leading to a ransom demand but no resolution.
Josué, a motorcyclist from Granja Lisboa in Fortaleza, disappeared last Saturday night while on his way to deliver food in Caucaia. His family reported that after he left home, criminals contacted them, demanding a ransom of R$ 500 to secure his release. Despite the family fulfilling the payment request, Josué remains missing, and his whereabouts are still unknown.
On the night he disappeared, Josué's wife received a distressing phone call from him, during which he indicated that he was being held hostage by a local criminal gang. The kidnappers even spoke with his wife during this call, confirming the dire situation. Within days, the suspects made further contact through WhatsApp, reiterating their ransom demand for R$ 500 to facilitate his release, assuring the family that Josué would be left near a major highway after the payment was made.
Despite fulfilling the ransom conditions, Josué was not returned, leaving his family distraught and searching for answers. Law enforcement has made several arrests in connection with the case, but the investigation is ongoing as the community wrestles with the harrowing reality of violence and kidnapping in the region.
