In a recent operation conducted by the Military Road Police on Wednesday, a passenger on a bus traveling from São Paulo to Bahia attempted to avoid detection by pretending to be asleep as officers entered the vehicle on BR-135 in Montes Claros. The police were conducting routine inspections when they noticed the suspicious behavior of the 20-year-old male passenger, who showed signs of nervousness when questioned by officers.

Upon further investigation, officers discovered that the passenger had not brought any luggage with him, which heightened their suspicions. A search of his belongings, which included a backpack and a bag, led to the seizure of 14 bottles of 'lança-perfume' (a form of drug), marijuana, hashish, crack cocaine, and a cell phone. This significant haul of illicit drugs indicates a potential link to broader drug trafficking networks within the region.

Following his arrest, the individual was taken to the Civil Police station in Montes Claros, where he faces charges for drug trafficking. This incident highlights ongoing issues related to drug transport within Brazil, emphasizing the need for continued police operations on major transport routes to combat drug-related crime effectively.
