CPI of INSS approves invitations for testimonies from Campos Neto and Galípolo
The CPI of INSS has approved requests to hear testimonies from the current president of the Central Bank, Gabriel Galípolo, and former president Roberto Campos Neto regarding concerns over irregularities in loans to retirees and pensioners.
On Thursday, the CPMI of INSS approved requests to hear testimonies from Gabriel Galípolo, the current president of the Central Bank, and Roberto Campos Neto, the former president, as part of an investigation into alleged irregularities concerning secured loans to retirees and pensioners. The parliamentary commission voted symbolically on the invitations submitted by Senator Carlos Viana (Podemos-MG), which aim to probe deeper into the practices of the secured credit market.
The testimonies are meant to clarify potential irregularities in operations linked to retirees and pensioners benefiting from INSS loans, particularly focusing on contracts that may have been signed without proper authorization. Although the invitations to appear before the committee were approved, it is important to note that the individuals are not mandated to comply.
The investigation by the CPMI seeks to address concerns regarding irregularities in the lending processes to pensioners and retirees, including possible lapses in financial oversight. This scrutiny not only aims to ensure compliance with regulations but also to restore trust in the financial system by exposing any existing flaws or malpractices.
