Monograph 'Usora 1991-1995' Presented: A Lasting Testimony of Courage, Unity, and Sacrifice

A monograph documenting the history of the Usora municipality during the Croatian War of Independence was presented in Mostar, celebrating local bravery and sacrifice.

The monograph titled 'Usora 1991-1995' was officially presented at the Katarina Kosača Gallery in the Croatian Home of Herceg Stjepan Kosača, in Mostar. This comprehensive book focuses on the historical events of the municipality of Usora during the Croatian War of Independence, highlighting its significant role and sacrifices made during this period. Prior to the event in Mostar, the monograph had already been introduced in Usora and Zagreb, indicating a growing interest in this aspect of local history.

The promotion program, moderated by Fra Ivan Nujić, began with a speech from the municipality mayor Zvonimir Anđelić, followed by remarks from Slaven Galić, the representative of the Croatian National Assembly and Deputy Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Key editors Ilija Ivkić and Ante Jeleč, alongside Professor Ivica Šarac, Director of the Croatian Documentation Center of the Homeland War in BiH, also contributed to the discussion on the importance of the book and its implications for understanding the local history.

Galić emphasized that this valuable work serves as a permanent testament to the courage, unity, and sacrifices of the defenders and people of Usora during the war. Notably, the crucial role of the 110th Brigade of the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) was highlighted, as the publication aims to preserve collective memory and honor the community's contributions during a tumultuous period in Croatian history.
