Agreement between the State and Braskem enables the construction of the new Portugal Ramalho

An agreement between the government of Alagoas and petrochemical company Braskem will facilitate the construction of the new Portugal Ramalho Hospital in Maceió, with R$105 million allocated for the project.

An agreement approved by the courts between the Alagoas government and Braskem will ensure the construction of the new Portugal Ramalho School Hospital (HEPR) as part of the Grande Maceió program. With the court's approval, the state will gain access to R$105 million from the initial three installments of the agreement made with Braskem. This marks the first collaborative agreement between the state and the petrochemical company following the tragic sinking of neighborhoods in the capital in 2018. The judicial approval stipulates that the funds will be deposited in a judicial account and allocated exclusively for the project's execution, which, according to the government, ensures the protection of resources and enhances the speed of meeting established goals in the area of mental health. This new hospital is part of a broader initiative that includes other significant interventions in the capital of Alagoas, such as the Elderly Hospital and plans for further local healthcare facilities.
