E. Grikšas on 'Aumovio's' withdrawal: we did everything to keep the company

Lithuanian officials assure that they made every effort to retain the company 'Aumovio' despite its decision to withdraw, citing strategic business changes as the primary reason.

During a recent parliamentary session, Lithuanian Minister E. Grikšas stated that the government took all necessary actions to retain the company 'Aumovio', which has decided to withdraw from the Lithuanian market. He mentioned that the decision was challenging for the company, highlighting that it is based on internal strategic changes rather than the business environment in Lithuania. The official statement from 'Aumovio' corroborated this by indicating that the competitive nature of Lithuania did not factor into their decision-making process.

Grikšas emphasized the ongoing communication between the government and 'Aumovio' representatives, including several visits to the Kaunas Free Economic Zone to facilitate discussions. He stressed that these strategic decisions were made solely within the company and were not driven by external pressures. The Minister took note of the company's official communications that clarified the separation from the Lithuanian market was strictly a matter of business strategy.

Despite the withdrawal of 'Aumovio', the Minister assured that Lithuania is still successfully attracting investment projects, supported by the investment promotion agency 'Investuok Lietuvoje'. He underscored the government’s commitment to create a favorable environment for investors and to retain those already established, although the exit of such companies presents challenges for the local economy and perception of the market's stability.
