Police carry out second phase of operation investigating million-dollar scam in the construction sector in Pará
The Civil Police of Pará initiated the second phase of 'Operation Concreto Armado', targeting a criminal organization involved in sophisticated scams within the construction sector.
The Civil Police of Pará commenced the second phase of 'Operation Concreto Armado' on September 19, investigating a criminal organization suspected of executing sophisticated scams in the construction sector. This operation involves 120 police officers executing judicial warrants issued by the Guarantee Court of the Metropolitan Region of Belém and focuses on a scheme that reportedly inflicted multi-million dollar losses across the state.
Investigations revealed that the criminal operations have impacted victims in various states across Brazil, including Mato Grosso and Minas Gerais, along with Pará. The efforts spearheaded by the Metropolitan Police Department, with support from the São Brás Section, were pivotal in gathering evidence that underpinned the issuance of the judicial measures. Collectively, 42 warrants are being executed, comprising nine temporary arrest warrants and the remainder for search and seizure operations.
As of this operation, six individuals have been arrested in Paraná, signaling the extensive reach and seriousness of the alleged criminal activities. The police's methodical approach aims to dismantle the operational framework of this organization and provide restitution for affected victims, highlighting the ongoing battle against organized crime in Brazil’s construction sector.
