Two men steal belongings from truck driver killed in accident on BR-135; one of them was arrested

In a shocking incident on Wednesday afternoon, two men stole the belongings of a truck driver who tragically died in a road accident on BR-135 in Montes Claros, Brazil. A video circulating on social media captured the moment when one of the suspects approached the driver's body, which was trapped in the wreckage, and removed his wallet. Witnesses reported that the men also took other items from the truck cabin, including what appeared to be a firearm.
The Military Police were able to identify the suspects through the footage, leading to the arrest of a 27-year-old man, just 200 meters from the accident scene, at his residence. Upon arrest, police found R$ 237 in his shorts pocket, and further investigation at his home revealed an additional R$ 2,306.50. Despite being questioned, both the suspect and his relatives provided conflicting accounts regarding the source of the stolen money and items.
This disturbing event raises questions about crime in the area, as opportunistic thefts often occur in the aftermath of accidents.
