'Incredibly brave' man traps armed robber inside shop he tried to raid

A shop worker in Coventry trapped an armed robber inside the store he attempted to raid, leading to the robber's arrest.

In a courageous act, a shop worker in Coventry managed to trap an armed robber, identified as Jordan Peebles, inside the store during a robbery attempt on Christmas Eve. Peebles, who wielded a kitchen knife during the ordeal, assaulted the shop worker and began to fill a bag with stolen goods. However, the worker swiftly escaped outside the shop, lowering the security shutters, which effectively sealed Peebles inside.

CCTV footage captured the panicked moments of Peebles as he desperately tried to force the shutters open to escape, only to realize he was trapped. When the police arrived at the scene, Peebles reportedly pleaded to be let out before he was arrested. Subsequently, Peebles was brought before Warwick Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to the charges of robbery. He was sentenced to four years and four months in prison, emphasizing the legal consequences of such violent criminal acts.
