Mother Arrested for Burying 3-Year-Old Daughter and Hiding It for 6 Years... Also Collected Child Subsidies
A woman in her thirties has been arrested for the alleged abuse and murder of her three-year-old daughter, with additional charges for concealing the body and fraudulently receiving child benefits.
In a shocking case from South Korea, a woman in her thirties has been arrested for allegedly abusing her three-year-old daughter, leading to the child's death, and subsequently burying her in a hillside. The Suwon District Court issued a warrant for the woman, referred to as 'A,' based on evidence of child abuse leading to death. Alongside her, a man known as 'B,' who assisted in concealing the body, has also been arrested, with concerns regarding evidence tampering and potential flight influencing the court's decision.
The tragic incident reportedly occurred in February 2020, when A lived in an apartment in Jeongwang-dong, Siheung, Gyeonggi Province. Allegations state that A, with the help of her then-boyfriend B, concealed her daughter's death by burying the body in a mountainous area in Ansan. Notably, B is not the biological father of the child. For six years, A managed to hide the crime by delaying her daughter’s school enrollment and having a niece of B attend classes in her place. The crime was exposed when the school reported A for lack of contact after a field trip period.
Further investigation revealed that even after her daughter's passing, A continued to collect child support and subsidies intended for her deceased child, raising questions about her motives and actions following the tragedy. The National Forensic Service has been engaged to conduct an autopsy on the child's remains, with police continuing their investigation into A and others involved in this heinous case.
