Egypt: We condemn Iran's aggression in the Gulf and will not join any military alliance
Egypt has condemned Iran's aggression against Gulf countries but has stated that it will not participate in any military alliance against them.
Egypt's Minister of State for Information, Diaa Rashwan, announced that Egypt will not become part of any military alliance against a country in the region but is prepared to support its Arab brothers in any way required. He emphasized that Gulf countries have yet to request military assistance. Rashwan expressed Egypt's complete condemnation of what he termed "Iranian aggression against Gulf states," reiterating solidarity with Arab nations amidst escalating military tensions targeting vital installations in the area.
He clarified that Egypt's stance has been consistent from the outset, rooted in a full condemnation of any aggression while remaining open to supporting national security initiatives by any means possible. Rashwan outlined Egypt's dual approach: first, openly denouncing the aggression and demonstrating full solidarity with regional allies; and second, continuing intensive diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation and prevent wider military conflict.
Additionally, Rashwan noted Egypt's early warnings regarding the risks of the region slipping into a broader confrontation and affirmed that communication channels remain active with various stakeholders, including the United States and Iran. This dual strategy underscores Egypt's commitment to both regional stability and to ensuring its response to security threats is measured yet proactive.
