Deadline for the R$ 130 million bidding for the construction of BRT terminals in MT is extended

The deadline for bidding on the construction of BRT terminals in Cuiabá and Várzea Grande, Brazil, has been extended to March 31, with an estimated cost of R$ 130.7 million.

The bidding deadline for selecting the company responsible for building terminals and the Operational Control Center for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system in Cuiabá and Várzea Grande has been postponed to March 31. The estimated cost for this project is R$ 130.7 million, and the bidding is structured as a single lot, ensuring that the winning company handles all construction phases. This strategic approach aims to streamline the project and enhance efficiency in execution.

According to the State Secretariat of Infrastructure and Logistics (Sinfra), the procurement process will unfold through a price competition among interested companies. The terminals are planned to be located at strategic points, equipped to facilitate passenger boarding and alighting as well as addressing passenger needs. This initiative is part of a larger effort to improve public transportation systems in the region, showcasing the government’s commitment to enhancing urban mobility in major cities.

Current construction efforts for the BRT system are already active across five different fronts, necessitating caution for drivers near construction zones. Ongoing works include drainage systems and concreting processes, particularly between key locations like the Sefaz Viaduct and the Public Defender's office. With the extended deadline, it is expected that more companies will participate, aiming to fulfill the regional demand for better public transport facilities and improve traffic flow in these metropolitan areas.
