House destroyed after stones 'fly' during explosion in rock detonation, in ES

A house was destroyed following an explosion during rock detonation in Vargem Alta, Brazil, with debris landing on the empty residence but fortunately causing no injuries.

In Vargem Alta, a house was left in ruins after an explosion during the detonation of rocks in the region of Jaciguá. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening, around 5 PM, when debris from the explosion flew into the air and struck the nearby house, which was empty at the time. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported as the property was unoccupied during the explosion.

The explosion happened in an area where explosives were being used to facilitate rock removal and was situated beneath a bridge in the area. The impact of the debris on the nearby house raised concerns about safety and the procedures followed during the detonation process. The property's owner, entrepreneur Fernanda Marqueti, revealed that the house had recently undergone renovations and was listed for sale or rental, adding a layer of financial implications to the already distressing situation.

Marqueti expressed relief that no one was inside the home at the time of the explosion, stating, 'Thank God, there was no one at home. We haven't lived here for some time. Indeed, this house was for sale or rent.' The incident raises questions about the oversight of demolition activities in residential areas and the urgent need for stricter safety measures to prevent property damage and protect lives during such operations.
