Seizure of mobile phone helps police discover PCC message group in Paraná

The seizure of a mobile phone in 2025 has aided the Paraná Civil Police in uncovering a messaging group linked to the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) criminal faction.

The Paraná Civil Police have made significant strides in their investigation of the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) gang after seizing a mobile phone in 2025. This critical piece of evidence enabled them to uncover a messaging group that communicated illegal activities, particularly drug trafficking, across 20 municipalities from Maringá to Querência do Norte. As a result of the investigation's findings, police executed multiple arrest and search warrants in the municipalities of Loanda, Santa Isabel do Ivaí, and Querência do Norte on Wednesday, underlining the urgency and gravity of the operation.

Delegate Iasmin Gregório reported that the extraction of data from the seized phone revealed a structured organization within the PCC that was engaged in drug trafficking operations. The messaging group contained individuals who were responsible for various tasks such as drug sales, negotiations, and recruiting minors for criminal activities. The organization appeared to be well-established, with clear leadership directing the actions of its members, emphasizing the pervasive issue of gang activity in the region.

In total, law enforcement executed 19 arrest warrants and 17 search warrants during the operation, signaling a significant crackdown on the criminal activities associated with the PCC. However, according to the delegate, some suspects remain at large, highlighting the ongoing challenge the police face in dismantling organized crime networks in the area. This operation underscores the continuous battle against drug trafficking and organized crime in Brazil, further complicating public safety efforts in the region.
