Super Carioca Health Center is inaugurated in the West Zone of Rio

A new Super Carioca Health Center was inaugurated in Campo Grande, Rio de Janeiro, focusing on specialized care and rehabilitation services.

On Wednesday, a new Super Carioca Health Center was inaugurated in Campo Grande, located in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro. Construction of the center began last year, and it is designed to serve as a crucial healthcare resource for the local community. The facility will initially house two main health centers, one of which will focus on specialties including fibromyalgia, ophthalmology, and services for individuals with autism spectrum disorders. The other center will provide rehabilitation services, which were also launched during the inauguration event.

In addition to these services, the center is expected to include a hemodialysis center in the future, significantly diversifying the types of care available to patients in the region. To access services at the Super Center, patients are required to schedule appointments through the Sisreg system, meaning they must first visit a Family Clinic or a Municipal Health Center for triage and referrals. This process aims to streamline access to medical care within the public health system, ensuring that individuals receive appropriate attention based on their medical needs.

At the inauguration event, Mayor Eduardo Paes emphasized the significance of the new facility, mentioning it as the first location within the municipal public network to incorporate semaglutide, the active ingredient in the medication Ozempic. The introduction of such treatments at public health facilities reflects a growing effort to enhance care for chronic conditions within the public sector, potentially improving health outcomes for many residents in the West Zone of Rio.
