Green March: a campaign to identify cases of tuberculosis is held in the interior of SP; see the schedule
The municipality of Garça in São Paulo is conducting an active campaign to identify tuberculosis cases as part of the March Green awareness initiative.
The city of Garça in São Paulo has launched an active mobilization to identify individuals with tuberculosis symptoms, in collaboration with the Brazilian Society Caminho de Damasco. This initiative is part of the March Green campaign, which aims to raise awareness about tuberculosis and encourage early diagnosis to prevent transmission.
Running until March 31, health teams will visit high-traffic areas such as public squares, businesses, and institutions to screen for 'respiratory symptomatic' individuals—those with a persistent cough lasting three weeks or more. The goal is to detect cases early and provide guidance on the importance of timely diagnosis in breaking the chain of transmission of the disease.
If residents are not approached directly by the health teams during their rounds, they are encouraged to seek information about the campaign and services available to them through local health channels. This proactive approach underscores the urgent public health response aimed at controlling and reducing tuberculosis cases in the region.
