Eighth Youth Festival Croatia in June in Sisak: An Opportunity for Spiritual Renewal and Community
The Eighth Youth Festival Croatia will be held from June 26 to 28 in Sisak, offering spiritual programs and community gatherings for the youth.
The Eighth Youth Festival Croatia is set to take place from June 26 to 28 at the St. Kvirin Parish in Sisak, modeled after the renowned Mladifest in Medjugorje. This three-day spiritual gathering aims to foster spiritual renewal and community among young individuals, according to the announcement by the Media Office of the Sisak Diocese. The theme for this year is "Thus, the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath!" (Mk 2:28), encouraging participants to engage deeply in the religious and communal aspects of the event.
Organized by the Sisak Diocese, the Legion of Mary from Petrinja, and the St. Kvirin Parish in Sisak, the festival will include a comprehensive program featuring prayer, catechesis, confession, Eucharistic celebrations, and musical performances. Fr. Ivan Benaković will lead the daily catechesis sessions, while the Bishop of Sisak, Vlado Košić, will officiate the Mass on the first day. Additionally, a concert by the worship band "Dom molitve" from Slavonski Brod is scheduled for the Friday evening program, promising a rich blend of faith and entertainment.
The Mladifest is viewed as a significant opportunity for spiritual renewal, fellowship, and community bonding among the youth, reflecting the growing interest in faith-based activities within Croatia. It serves as a platform for young people to not only deepen their spiritual lives but also to connect with each other, creating a sense of unity and collective identity within the church community.
